Deer Pulled From Mud In Dramatic Westchester Rescue

Despite being faced with an unusual situation, firefighters pulled off the successful rescue of a young deer that became stuck in mud in a Westchester pond.

The rescue happened in New Rochelle on Thursday, July 11, when firefighters responded to reports of a stuck deer near Pryer Manor Road. 

After around an hour, firefighters were able to remove the deer from the mud in Mill Pond and reunite it with a deer believed to be its mother who had been watching from a distance.
